Ankit was born and raised in Chhapra, Bihar. An engineering graduate, he worked as a software engineer with Infosys, did a master's in English, and got a PhD in English from IIT Roorkee.
Ankit is currently based in Karnal where he is an assistant professor of English with the Department of Higher Education, Haryana. His poetry, short fiction, non-fiction, essays, translations and research articles have appeared in journals, magazines and anthologies across twenty countries.
Ankit is the author of Pinpricks (2022) and has edited Wives (2023) and The Bare Bones Book of Humour (2026). He is also a founding editor of the EBSCO-indexed magazine, The Hooghly Review, has guest-edited a special issue of Essence & Critique: Journal of Literature and Drama Studies (Bingöl University, Türkiye), and is a consulting editor with several Routledge and Springer Nature journals.
Ankit won the 2023 Briefly Think Essay Prize, was a finalist in the Sundress 2023 Broadside Contest, and made the top 1% in the Wergle Flomp Humour Poetry Contest 2023.
